Your beauty salon plays a crucial role in restoring the confidence in the people that walk through your door. They turn to you when they need a refresh, a beautify, or even an hour or two to themselves. These days, most beauty salons are competing to be the one that their clients return to.
What will make yours stand out from the crowd?
Exceptional customer service.
Read on to find out Diamond Designs Uniforms' top tips on how to make your customer service stand out from the rest, and be the salon your customers tell all their friends about.
Use positive language.
Firstly, did you know that the words you use will determine your client's attitude? It's very important not to use negative language, such as "no", "won't", "can't", etc.
Here's an example:
A client asks what you think about going platinum blonde, and you know that it will wash them out and overall not look very good. They are asking your opinion, so you feel you will be honest.
Don't say, "No, that won't look good on you".
Instead, say, "I would go for a softer shade".
Using positive language will ensure that keep the client from getting upset or having a bad experience at your salon.
Check in constantly.
Chances are, the clients at your hair or beauty salon have a specific picture in their head of how they want their treatment to turn out. So, it is your job to get this nailed (pun intended).
Check in with them at certain stages to ensure you are fulfilling this. It shows attentiveness and that you are open to changing it up if they're unhappy.
Make them feel at home.
Offer to take their coat, offer tea/coffee/bubbly, etc. Little things like this will let your client know that your salon is a relaxing place to come to, and will create a nice environment during their time there.
