This week, Diamond Designs sat down with Angela Hennessy from Buff Beauty Salon in Kilkenny, to discuss the daily operations of a beauty salon. Read on to find out more!

Setting Up For Success

A good morning routine, as we know, is key for a day of success. How does this apply to running a busy beauty salon?

Firstly, you want to make sure that all tools and resources are prepared for when your first customer walks in the door. Angela tells us, "Our salon opens for treatments at 9:30. However, as therapists, we start at 9am. This is to prep our treatment rooms for the busy day ahead".

A good routine when opening up your salon is crucial to make sure the day starts on a good foot.

The Customer Journey

Although the salon may be busy, it is important to give the customer your undivided attention. They are on a journey with their skin or hair and you are the person making it happen!

These transformations are happening all around the salon every day, and every single one is just as important as the last. Angela says, "My favourite [treatment] is facials and skincare. [I love] following a journey with a client!".

This kind of devotion to customers is also a great way of improving client retention.

The Right Salon Uniform

In order for the day to go as smoothly as possible, the right clothing is essential. This is to prevent any hazards, trips or falls that could grind the day (and the salon!) to a halt.

Diamond Designs Uniforms are the leading provider of healthcare and salon uniforms in the country, being chosen by top salons, hospitals and clinics nationwide. Angela and the staff at Buff Beauty are proud to wear their Diamond Designs uniform, saying, "We all absolutely love the Grey's Anatomy uniforms in navy. So comfortable and breathable. Not at all tight fitting, so we don't feel restricted in them!"

The right uniform is an integral part of running a busy salon, so make sure to get yours!
