How To Choose The Right Scrub Size

Measure Yourself Correctly

But what exactly must you measure and how? Let’s find out -

  1. Chest/Bust: The fullest part of your chest/bust which is close to the nipples.
  2. Waist: Your natural navel-level waistline which is the narrowest part of your torso.
  3. Hips: The fullest part of your hips below the pelvic bone.
  4. Inseam Length: The inside of your leg, starting at the groin area till the ankle.
  5. Height: Top to toe length.

Tips To Measure Yourself Accurately

  1. Keep the measuring tape lightly on your skin. It should neither be too tight nor too loose.
  2. Maintaining a proper posture is important else it would affect the waist and chest measurements. Take a friend or family member’s help if need be.
  3. Measure first thing in the morning as it would avoid unwanted inches on the body due to bloating.
  4. Make sure your feet are placed together while measuring hips.

Opt For The Right Size

The right measurements will pave the way for you to know your scrub size better. It will also help you decide whether you need petite scrubs or plus-size scrubs. Your unique sizing needs will be catered to for once and all! Sounds great, right? We thought so! Before we run you through the details, we’d like to remind you that every size has a charm of its own. And with this scrub size guide, you’re bound to rock your healthcare look.

  1. Petites: Sometimes, a small size isn’t small enough because of the height. People with heights shorter than 5’4’’ are considered petite and are likely to need petite scrubs.
  2. Tall: Women over 5’8’’ and men over 6’2’’ are considered tall regardless of their size. Hence, they are likely to need tall scrubs.
  3. Plus: People with curvy bodies, larger chests/busts, & broader shoulders will need to go ahead with plus size scrubs.

For further details, our Diamond Designs sizing chart can help you make a more informed decision.

While that’s pretty much the tall and short of it, what will you do if you find yourself on the borderline between two sizes? The answer lies in going with the bigger size. Also, if you find your measurements matching two sizes, we’d recommend you to go with the size with which your larger measurement matches.

Ask The Right Questions

Asking the right questions before making a purchase is of the utmost importance. Some of the questions you should be asking yourself are as follows -

  1. About Fabric: If this cotton fabric shrinks, should I go for a larger scrub size?
  2. About Color: Will going for darker colors help me look presentable if I stain my scrub? - You could be a careful person.
  3. About Layering: Do the low temperatures of AC give me chills? - If yes, maybe go for a larger size to add a layer below the scrub.
  4. About Features: Do the scrubs offer enough stretch? Are the best plus size scrubs durable too?
  5. About Workplace Code: Does my workplace follow a color code I need to adhere to? Does my clinic allow modern jogger-style scrubs?

Read The Reviews

Lastly, going through the reviews dropped by past customers can greatly help you understand the sizing and if it is in sync with your idea. Hence, make sure you go through as many reviews as you can to have a clear picture.

And that’s pretty much the length and breath of how you can figure out your perfect scrub size.

Hope this proves to be helpful.
