Beauty salons and spas are everywhere these days, on the high street you probably pass many whilst doing your shopping. People are more beauty conscious than ever before and like to get hair, makeup and nails done often, some people like to have nonsurgical treatments such as Botox and fillers and others like the occasional Spa trip for some relaxing treatments. All of the salons and spas we see are there to serve a purpose; to entertaining public demand. This is great for customers who have an immense choice of places to visit (to get their beauty treatments); however, it may be a tad more frustrating for new salons with such vast competition.

How to win loyalty

Many salons will have a regular clientele base that stay loyal and will return time and time again; they may even recommend friends and family if they are always happy with the treatments they get.

However, if you are a new salon or spa and are trying to get established in this busy industry, you may want to try a few of these tips to bag yourself some good solid regular customer base.

1) Price is right!

If the price is right, it’s a good starting point to attract some new customers through your doors. Of course, every business has to make money (so it should only be for temporary) but for a new salon, a promotional period usually helps to get your foot in the door.

Established salons which need a bit of a boost (perhaps after a sluggish period) you may want to try a sale on treatments for a week or two just to see if it can help to boost things up.

The good news is everybody likes a bargain, so a short-term price drop usually does the trick!

2) Advertise!

Whether you are a new business or an established one, if a promotional period is about to begin; it will only be a success if people know about it!

Advertise it big on the shop window, pop flyers through people’s doors and maybe around time and if possible, pop and advert in your local newspaper.

You may want to add a little cut-out voucher on flyers because people do like to take a voucher to get some money off; it’s always a winning trick of the trade, no matter what business you are.

3) Smart works!

Every client likes special treatment; that’s why we visit salons. People like to be pampered and treated well too.

It’s always better for business if you exude utmost professionalism, both in mannerism and appearance. A beauty uniform is a perfect way to showcase your professional standards at the salon; it appears smart to clients.Beauty uniforms are not only smart and professional looking but also a great way to advertise your salon or spa, when employees are out and about (before and after work and during lunch) they are basically showcasing your venue, so be sure to add your logos to your tunics.
